Your Questions Answered
At SasserGroup, I firmly believe that an educated home buyer or seller is best equipped to make their own decisions. That’s why I take time out of my day each and every day to answer someone’s real estate question. And, when I think the answer can be useful to you as well, I share it here. So without further ado:
Real estate is the easiest way to make a very good career that tens of thousands locally fail at every year.
The basic path is to take a course, background check, take a state test, get licensed, and join a brokerage.
But that’s when most supervision and direction and “clear path” stops. It’s a pretty individualistic career where no one is going to be asking you what you’re working on.
Thus tens of thousands fail at it. You have to, day after day, do the things that consistently produce results without anyone telling you to.
The reason most successful realtors are people persons is because they can easily fail into success by having such wide friends of friends.
If you don’t have a wide friend group you can still succeed but you have to be methodical. You don’t have to cold call or any of that garbage. But you do have to do the right things consistently.
If you want to punch a clock and believe that work-life balance is absolute and the thought of responding to a work email while chilling at the beach infuriates you then real estate probably isn’t for you.
However, if you are disciplined enough, believe that honesty and integrity are of paramount importance, and also think the idea of a flexible schedule is awesome even if on occasion you may have to answer a call at the beach then I’m more than happy to answer any further questions, guide you in the right direction, and even bring you on as part of my team if we are the right for you.
